Campus Alcorcón
Campus Description
It is located in the "Parque Oeste" of Alcorcón, where the development of a Technology Park is planned.
Connected by railway, bus and underground it spreads over 28ha and includes 25 lecture rooms, a building with
multi-purpose laboratories, two departmental buildings for research, the administrative and student services
buildings, commercial area and sport facilities. This Campus is adjacent to the new Hospital of Alcorcón, now
the University Hospital. It lodges the Faculty of Health Sciences, The University Clinic, where the students
practice, is outstanding.
There is an underground station close it’s the campus.

Classrooms
There are two lecture halls. One of them has 11 classrooms that can hold from for 235 to 40 students. The other
one has 14 classrooms that can hold from 125 to 84 students. It has also 2 computer rooms.
All students have access to Internet. A wireless networks fully covers the campus.
Laboratories
There are two buildings. One of them has nine laboratories and three seminar rooms for Biochemistry, Human
Anatomy, Cytology/Histology, Microscopy, Nursing and Human Physiology, Physiotherapy and Occupational
Therapy. The other has seven laboratories, two for Psychomobility, two for Nursing, two for Occupational
Therapy and one for Physiology.
These laboratories include: optical and confocal microscopes, a tissue culture facility, a fluorescence
photomicroscope Zeiss Axioplan 2 and an aninverted microscope Zeiss Axioverts 100.
Library
It includes 14.800 volumes and 212 journals, a Health science video and software collection, standard
databases such as (MEDLINE AMED, CINHAL, EMBASE), a reading room and book loan service, with 520
reading posts. There is access its nearly 20000 journals in electronic format.
