Language requirements

Exchange students who want to study in spanish must have a B1 spanish certificate. B2 in spanish is desirable.

B2 English level is compulsory for studies in english.

For all health studies that they have to treat with patients and for second cycle (Master) we require a B2 level certificate in spanish.

If the student is going to study in English-Spanish will have to provide the required certificates for each language.

If the student is going to study one of Health Science study areas (except Occupational Therapy) B2 certificate of Spanish is required.

If the mother tongue of the student is SPANISH and goes to study in Spanish, the student will not need any certificate.

If the student's mother tongue is ENGLISH and will study in English, the student will not need a certificate

Welcome Days facilitate the integration of international students in university life and allow you to have an overview of the URJC and its environment, meet other students and make first acquaintance with the art and culture of the Community of Madrid, visiting the historic centre of the city, its museums and strolling along the streets with your peers.

At the Welcome Days, and during the year, we organize different trips within the 'Visiting Madrid and surroundings' program, which will take you to the ‘Museums Route' or introduce you into and delight you with the local cuisine.

The International Welcome Day: The Welcome Day shows you around your campus and the University, you will receive information regarding issues of your interest, you’ll meet the team of the International Office and if you join the Buddy program, a fellow student will guide you in your early days.

Welcome day will take place for all the exchange students on Tuesday 16th of January 2018 at:

Welcome Session will be at 9,30h for those students who will attend courses in Spanish language

Welcome Session will be at 12 h for those students who will attend courses in English  language.

Assistance to the Welcome Session is very important because essential  information for your mobility will be given.

Those students who are not able to attend the Welcome Day  must  go to the International Relations Office of their Campus once they arrive.

The first week of your arrival here will be free Cultural and Touristic activities all around Madrid for exchange students. So, we invite you to takepart in them. We will inform you about the programs during the Welcome Session.

The BUDDY PROGRAM, a welcome program of the URJC, helps all international students to integrate into the university and to know the city.

Participating in this program, the buddies (mentor/mentee) will have the opportunity to live an "internationalization at home". You can practice languages, learn about other cultures and expand your international contacts. With your participation you can earn up to 2 official credits.

Erasmus Student Network Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (ESN URJC) is a local section of the biggest student organization in Europe. We are VOLUNTEERS and local students who work for free to turn your exchange period into the best experience of your life.

Residencia Campus Vicálvaro. The residence is located in the Campus of Vicálvaro, and has 217 rooms, of which 180 single rooms and 37 double rooms. Each room has a surface of ​​approximately 18m², 34m² in the case of double rooms, and has an ensuite bathroom and office with refrigerator and microwave.
